Truth is NOT in the eye of the beholder

After last night's debate I was SO happy with McCain's performance.  Other than "cockamamie" that is.  I posted on a board that McCain won by keeping Obama on the defensive but that Obama did well too.  In response all I have read is nasty horrible personal attacks on McCain and continued hero worship of Obama.  How do they not see how far askew they are?  How do they not see that this "My guy is a god/their guy is stupid and ugly" crap is what is wrong with so many things in America today?

It is wrong to personally attack people.  It is wrong to willfully close your eyes to the truth.  It is wrong to lie.  It is wrong to befriend and defend a domestic terrorist.  It is wrong to equate your opponent with segregationists, Nazis, clinic bombers or any other historically evil person with whom they do not share beliefs.  It is wrong to disown friends for political gain.

I would never vote for Obama because our political ideologies are diametrically opposed.  However, I could respect him if he hadn't spent his entire campaign (two years now!) lying time after time after time and abanding his beliefs and friends when they become a political liability.

This is why God needs to remain in the public square.  Loyalty, chivalry and honor require a well formed conscience.

God Bless all who read this.
